Jimmy Kimmel is really making the most out of this weed issue.
A few weeks ago Kimmel and his team introduced us to Mom Weed, “For moms who toke up on the go. Because let’s face it: Taking a fat rip off some dank-ass ganj makes doing laundry, changing diapers, cooking, doing more laundry, changing more diapers, cooking again almost bearable.”
Kimmel starts his latest sketch (embedded above) with this clever line, which tips a hat to last week’s news that Pennsylvania had just become the 24th state in the U.S. to legalize medical marijuana:
“Twenty-four states have legalized medical marijuana,” Kimmel says in the intro, “the only reason our country is almost now officially half-baked.”
Then Kimmel takes to the streets of Los Angeles to ask people who have medical marijuana cards about their qualifying conditions. And the results are uncommonly hilarious, especially given that California’s medical cannabis infrastructure is among the most relaxed in the United States.
So what are the medical conditions these folks have?
One of the gentlemen interviewed can’t remember his qualifying condition, saying, “I guess you need one, huh?” A woman had the quickest laugh-out-loud answer that included this quip, “The condition is children.” Another man said he wants an MMJ card for his “birthday or Christmas” before showing off a truly strange chest tattoo. And one of the last people interviewed said his qualifying condition is “suspect glaucoma.”
When asked what that means by Kimmel’s producer, the man replied, “It means that in the future that it’s a possibility that I could have glaucoma.”
Boom goes the dynamite.
Fittingly, the last guy interviewed for the sketch hails from Free America (a.k.a. Denver, Colorado). The gentleman said he doesn’t have a medical marijuana card, but his son does — and you’ll have to watch the video to hear the rest of his hilarious (and actually unlawful) answer.
