The NoCo Hemp Expo, the largest hemp-centric event in the U.S., announces programming details for the 2017 event, which takes place on March 31 and April 1, 2017.
The Expo’s “Let’s Talk Hemp” presented by The Hemp Road Trip on the Main Stage will feature TED-style talks, presentations and industry panels. Keynote addresses include the return of author and hemp evangelist Doug Fine; leading cannabis attorney Bob Hoban of the Hoban Law Group; and Hemp Oil Canada founder Shaun Crew.
On Friday, the Hemp Summit Room, which will be hosted by Hemp Business Journal and CPS (CannaPro Series), will feature a keynote by hemp advocate James Woolsey, a former director of the CIA. Woolsey’s talk will highlight key governmental issues that have plagued the industrial hemp movement and solutions to getting the industry legal and operational at a federal level. Other topics to be addressed include: The State of Hemp; Hemp vs Marijuana: Industries Colliding or Merging; and the Cannabis Professional Advancement Series (CPAS).
CPAS will include discussions on Industrial Hemp Products & Markets: Good Manufacturing Practices and Consumer Safeguards; Industrial Hemp Infrastructure & The Related Role of Government, Import, Export and Transport; Medical/Wellness Uses of Industrial Hemp and the FDA; and The Future of Industrial Hemp in America and Beyond.
New to NoCo this year is The Artists and Activists Tent, presented by Bluebird Botanicals, featuring a variety of talks on topics that include organic foods, sustainability, alternative energy, corporate responsibility, social consciousness, and more. There will be music segments between presentations both days, including performances by Loveland guitarist Dave Beegle.
The Workshop Tent, presented by THR Technologies, will feature workshops and demonstrations on hemp building and insulation, paper making, cooking with hemp, and a coffee roasting and infusion demo with a master coffee roaster. More workshop topics to be added!
